3D pen or 3Doodler was developed by Peter Dilworth, Maxwell Bogue and Daniel Cowen. The project started with 30.000$ goal on Kickstarter on 19 February 2013 and reached to over 2.344.000$ when the campaign closed on 25 March 2013.
HOW IT WORKS?
3Doodler is a pen not heavier than 200g, with a metal tip that can reach up to 270°C.
The “ink” used by this 3D Pen is 3mm ABS or PLA plastic. The same as it’s used by the 3D Printers.
VERSIONS
This pen is “kid safe” as the creators are saying, because the tip doesn’t heat up. And instead of plugging in the cable to the power outlet, this one, you can charge it and use it straight away.
A second fundraising yeldded more than 1.5 milion $. The second version of the pen give you the option to change the tip, a quieter fan and a smaller design.

FILAMENTS FOR 3D PEN
Most of the pens come with filament included in the package.
I’m generalising this section because they all use the same ABS or PLA filament (except 3Dodler Start version).
Even if they look similare they have different properties. So for ABS the recommended temperature is 210°C and for PLA is 175°C.
